Senior Pastor:

Rev. Dr. Calvin O. Hazel

Calvin Hazel was born in St Johnston Village, Basseterre, St Kitts.  He received his early education at the St Johnston Village Primary school and was later transferred to the Basseterre Senior High School where he received his secondary education.

At the age of 16 he became a Christian and two years later he began his preaching ministry.  This has expanded to 10 countries in the Caribbean and 14 states across the USA.

On leaving school, he worked as an electrician at the St. Kitts Sugar Manufacturing Company and later joined the staff of Radio Paradise as an announcer.  He was later promoted to Program Director then General Manager. Upon leaving Radio Paradise, Dr. Hazel established Dominion Ministries International and later, Dominion Radio.  He has been involved in a broadcasting career for 50 years.

In 1980 he enrolled in Florida Bible College in Hollywood, Florida.  However, due to unforeseen developments he had to return home.  Determined to increase his knowledge of the Bible he enrolled with Citadel Baptist College and Seminary in Sacramento California where he completed his Bachelor of Theology by correspondence and graduated in 1984.

He has been the Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle for almost 50 years.  As a product of radio ministry, he founded The Old Time Gospel Hour radio broadcast in 1985 and the program is still being aired today.

Dr Hazel received several honors from various organizations, among them, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, St Kitts Evangelical Association, The Disabled American Veteran Association.  In 1995 he was honored with a Doctor of Divinity Degree from Louisiana Baptist University and in 2019 he was awarded the Companion Star of Merit Award by the government of St. Kitts and Nevis. His most recent honor was bestowed upon him May 18th, 2023, by the Mayor of Bessemer City, North Carolina for his contribution to the spiritual development of its residents for over twenty years.

He is an author and has written several books such as, Facing the Giants, Walking through the 23rd Psalm, The Seven Churches of Revelation, Why some people crash, Fifty years of plowing, planting and watering and his latest book, The Wolves are coming. 

Dr. Hazel and his wife, Anica, were married in 1975.  They have 3 daughters, 3 sons in law and grandchildren who reside in the USA and St. Kitts.

 

Assistant Pastor:

Pastor Collin Mulley

Pastor Collin Mulley surrendered his life to Christ almost 40 years ago on January 31st 1983 at 9:15PM while attendeing a revival service at the recreation ground Pavilion in St. Paul’s village, held by Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. The guest speaker at the time was Pastor Ben Browne and he spoke on the topic: “Zacchaeus Come Down.” In December 1983, he was baptized and joined the fellowship of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. Pastor Mulley is the lead Maintenance Technician at the Joseph N. France Hospital, where he has worked since 1989. As a professional, he is received his training as a Biomedical Technician in Cuba and Martinique. He has also completed additional training in Portland, Oregon, USA.

Pastor Mulley completed a number of Bible Correspondence Courses with the Light of the Bible on the Life of Christ with Pastor Holmes Williams. Over the years he served the church as a Janitor, Usher and Minister of Evangelism. In November 2001, he was appointed as a Deacon and Youth Pastor. He has preached in the islands of Martinique, St. Thomas & St. Croix (USVI), Tortola (BVI) and a number of churches across St. Kitts. He was later ordained to the Ministry of the Gospel on September 23rd 2010. Today, Pastor Mulley stands as Assistant Pastor at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle under the mentorship and leading of Rev. Dr. Calvin O. Hazel, Senior Pastor.
